Being stuck at home with a sick kid is the worst! Don’t get me wrong, I’m a great caretaker. I have all kinds of creative tricks up my sleeve to hopefully make my kid less miserable. I’m also not a big worrier when it comes to illness. I know that for the most part, immune system’s just need time to do their thing.
Now being stuck at home is what drives me crazy. As a SAHM, I have very little time to myself. I enjoy the quiet of my home when the kids are at school and it’s the couple hours a week that I get to be productive. Not only does haven’t a kid at home mean that I’m stuck in the house, but it means I’m thoroughly distracted from anything I had planned to do.
If I wasn’t forced to be home, I could make a list and get a lot done around this place, but here’s something about not having a choice in the matter that makes it unbearable.
So this is a shout-out to all you parents who are stuck at home. Hang in there. I feel your pain. Try and be nice to yourself.
